Question: if the weather warms up will my water pump unfreeze

i just bought a montie carlo and the guy i bought it from put a new hose on it and just refiled the coolent with just water and it got really cold last night below freezing and i started the car today and the belt started smoking a0nd i was thinking the waterpump froze up i was just wondering if i need to buy a new water pump or just wait till it warms up

You'll probably need a new water pump and belt. You may need some additional cooling system components if it froze over.
