Question: IIm pretty sure the clutch is out but i not sure if its the whole clutch or just the slave cylinder

we were driving on the highway and came to a red light, when my wife went to take off the car wouldn't go it shifts into gear but it wont go. i dont have alot of money i just need to know if i need to replace the whole clitch or if i can just change the master slave cylinder.

If the pedal still feel normal but just doesn't engage the transmission, it is probably the clutch itself.

If the pedal goes to the floor without much resistance, it is more likely a slave cylinder issue.
