Question: immobilizer

my car would activate the immobilizer and sometimes i could reset it my self with key on, battery charger /jumper, all of the above, now i just cant reset. why would it start sometimes? now it just doesnt. i really need my car it runs great when its not activated by the immobilizer :( i dont even have the four digit skc code. to try to reset myself to possibly have it reprogrammed, could they simply scan it to atleast tell me if its the ecu, reprogram of the keys, or ignition ring before i pay to reprogram?
