Question: In replacing my hood struts, how do I get the bottom snap

In replacing my hood struts, how do I get the bottom snap loose? Do I pry it off, or does the retainer somehow come off first? Thx.

Most hood struts simply pop out or have a threaded nut that must be removed. Some have a retainer type clip to remove. Checking with the dealer might be a good idea.
