Question: Increase Gas Milage

Besides the basics of keeping your car in shape, air pressure, tune... ,and driving style, what is the best bang for the buck for dramatically increasing gas milage? Turbo? Program Chip? carbon fibre hood? Convert to electric?

Good question. Turbo and changing the computer settings are all about performance, not mileage. Anything lighter will lower the fuel necessary to accelerate, but the $$ may not result in actual savings. Same with converting to electric. That's a huge investment, and you still have to pay for electricity (which depending on where you live is generated by coal/nuclear/hydro-electric, which all have their associated costs.

Retro-fitting an existing vehicle is really only good for a hobby, not to save money.
