Question: Is high mileage oil truly necessary?

Oil changes are costing me approx. $50 for a 2001 Chevy Prizm because I've been paying extra for "high mileage" oil. Is the high mileage oil truly necessary? My car has 107,048 miles.

Use viscosity correct for your car and climate, and use full synthetic with quality filters.

Change every 5-6k or sooner. Keep the level correct, its good to check every time you fill the tank
