Question: is it okay to use just water in my radiator

bought it in the summer but have to refill radiator too often. No sign of leaks or water in oil. Don't want to spend money on antifreeze until I find out why it keeps dropping fluid level.

Yes, water will work fine. Coolant is good for freeze and rust protection, but not important in the short term.
