Question: is it true or false that the new cars have to have SAE (inch) sized tools

is it true or false that the new cars have to have SAE (inch) sized tools

That's an odd question, Lydia. I'm curious about the kind of knuckle-heads you've been talking to and I'm glad you're questioning them. If you're asking about whether standard or metric threads (and nut/bolt head sizes) are some kind of requirement, they are not. But if they were, they would certainly be metric as the rest of the world is metric right now, as are most American cars. All mechanics have to have full sets of both, although if purchasing tools for any newer cars, you're probably OK to just have metric.
