Question: is it wiring and is there a recall on these trucks for that problem
starter was shorting out so i replaced it with a rebuilt new one from autozone, only lasted a week and is now having the same problem. The starter came with a letter stating that ford had discovered problems with the wire corroding and stated that you should cut 4 inches off the original wire and connect it with the new piece of wire they provided. The starter engages and almost turns over and then clicks rapidly as if shorting out. It also rests the radio and all the stations when this happens so im guessing there is a short. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time.
