Question: is the exhaust on a 2000 buick century welded together?

im replacing the exhaust section right behind the rear muffler and before the catalytic converter (going from the rear of the car towards the front) and the exhaust wont disconnect from the muffler or the resonator (i believe thats the name of the piece) i rmoved the clamps however despite all the pb and wd-40 i cant get the pieces to come apart. are these parts all welded together? is it possible to replace just the mid exhaust section. i was able to buy just it in the auto parts store
