Question: is the head gasket blown?

my mother has an 2005 dodge neon. Their is a little bit of oil in the coolent. xaThe car overheated and the coolent came out of the overflow is what started this problem.xaWe put a new thermostat because the car was not registering the heand brown coolent. What is your best advice?

Oil in the coolant is a possible sign of a blown head gasket. You should have a mechanic inspect it to make sure that is the problem. There are a few other symptoms to look for, but a cylinder leak down test would provide the best evidence if that was the cause.
