Question: Is there a tool that can keep the timing when I remove timing chains?

I am replacing the oil pump in my 2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4 4.7L truck. I was told I could get a tool to remove the timing chains and it will keep them in time. If something like that is available I was wondering where I might get one?

I'm not aware of a way to remove timing chains and tensioners and still keeping them in time. As far as I know, if you remove them, you have to reset them. But you can double check that in the procedures for removing and installing timing chains in a manual for 4.7s. If the factory manual doesn't mention it, it's probably not available. It's not a simple procedure for that engine, good luck.
