Question: Light squeal sound coming from front end while accelerating

I have a 2004 gmc canyon Z71 with a 2 inch leveling kit. When I accelerate and it reaches 30km/h I can hear a light whistle/squeal coming from the front end of the truck. I had my friend take it for a drive and he can hear the same thing. Its not air moving through the truck cause this just started happening and the leveling kit has been on for a year.

You should safely elevate the truck of the ground (like on a lift) and run it at the speed you would hear the noise. You can have someone listen around for the noise. If you don't hear it, it may be related to wind noise or load on the drive train.

Maybe something is rubbing slightly, check everything that spins and things around them. Maybe the brake shields?

Depending on the noise it could also be something like a wheel bearing or other bearing. Hard to say.

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
