Question: manual transmission car jerking

My car recently began to jerk when the rpm reaches between 2000 rpm and 2500 rpms , However , it stops when im not in the 2000-2500 rpm range. Pls help me

Probably don't have anything to do with the transmission.

Check the engine computer for fault codes stored.

If that doesn't help, check for vacuum/air leaks etc.

Thanks Tyler I will definitely do a follow-up regarding the vacuum/air leaks. I took my car to AMACCO and the mechanic there checked for any fault codes and did not get any responses. However he stated that my clutch and transmission are both in good conditions. He then continued to say that my engine clicks on and off between rpm 2000 -2500 which could potentially be the cause of the problem. He says he's not to familiar why that I would need to have a full diagnostic check on the car. Next question would you happen to know of any good reliable mechanics in the area of Atlanta on whom could perform these services for me, in addition I recently discovered that the car needs a new alternator. So if you have any suggestions on who I should go to please or who I should stay away from please let me know.
