Question: motor noise/knocking

2000 grand cherokee laredo 2wd 6 cyl motor knocking noise and is loud but driveable. could this be lifters? What would the est cost for repair?

Loud knocking noises are usually rod bearings. Have it checked out, you may need a replacement or rebuilt engine.
