Question: my 1983 buick regal wont go in reverse and when i put in reverse or nutral it goes foward like if it

it a automatic v6 4.1

If you have no reverse, chances are good it's an internal problem. You'll need to take it in to a transmission shop to see if it can be repaired, or a new transmission is needed.

It is possible the shift position switch is maladjusted, but you really need someone to look at it to be sure.
