Question: My 1995 ford thunderbird will start but then die I have replaced the pump, filter, relays

Wile on I can smell something funny the car sputters the dies when it shuts off I wait and sometimes it will start up other times it won't I've bought the car and was told it was the pump that needed to be replaced now i feel like it should be my money someone please help me with this

It could be an ignition issue. Possibly the ignition module. those were very common failures on this generation Ford and caused symptoms much like you describe.
