Question: My 2000 cadillac dts wont shift from park into reverse?

My car was running fine a couple hours ago. then a couple minutes ago I went to drive and when i tryed to put the car in reverse the shifter would not go to reverse. It would go about halfway enough for the doors to lock and the headlamps to come on. Any suggestions of what i can do to drive my car tonight?

I would hit the brake a little harder then normal. Then see if the shifter will move. If the shifter does not then you are going to have to get someone out to look at it. Or get it towed.
