Question: my air filter got wet

I drove thru some deep water & my car stalled out. A puff of smoke came out my exhaust air filter is soaked and has water in the compartment undernieth it?? Please help? Do you think I blew my engine?

Possibly. Make sure there is no water in the oil or fuel systems. If it is just the air filter, drain the water, replace the filter and pull out the spark plugs. Then crank the engine with the plugs out. If water shoots out of the holes, but the engine sounds mechanically OK (nice even cranking), replace the plugs and try to start it. If it starts and runs correctly, you should be fine. If it runs badly, you need a shop to inspect it to see if it has internal damage.
