Question: My brake lights on my 1990 Nissan Infiniti Q45 will not

My brake lights on my 1990 Nissan Infiniti Q45 will not work. The bulbs are fine. The fuse blows each time I press the brake. Also in order to shift into reverse or drive I have to press my shift release button.

Sound like you have a short in one of the brake lamp circuits, or the brake switch itself. Start from the bulb sockets and try and find where there could be a short. You'll need a multimeter.

The shift lock problem sounds like something is broken in the shifter locking mechanism. You'll need to open it up and find the problem, or replace the complete shifter mechanism.
