Question: My car has started to jump with the check engine light recently coming on?

I currently have a 2002 vw jetta that has had the check engine light come on about 2 weeks ago. Today when driving on highway I tried getting over 60mph but my car started to jump on me when this happened. Was curious if this was an issue that is common and with an easy resolution? Any help would be great.

It could be nearly anything, but sounds like it might be a misfire. Does the lamp FLASH?

Take it in and have the codes read, then go from there.
