Question: My car turns over but is getting no fire, could this be the crankshaft positioning sensor?

For about a year the car ran and drove fine except when slowing down, or idling it would act like it was going to die.

Could be a number of issues. Start by checking the engine computer for fault codes. It may have some issues with a sensor or critical component. Maybe some air vacuum leaks contributing as well.
