Question: My car won't start what do I need to do?

I have replaced the coil and fuel filter and still have an issue with it turning over.

Assuming the engine is mechanically sound, it's either a spark or fuel related issue.

When you just turn the car on (without cranking) listen for a 2 second buzz from the fuel pump (you may need an assistant to listen at the fuel neck with the cap off.) If you hear that, it means your fuel pump can run. No noise means your pump or it's relay is bad.

If you have access to a scantool, look at the datastream for an RPM signal when cranking. If it's not there, your crank sensor is not working. If you see RPM you next need to see if you are getting spark at the plug, if not it could be an ignition module, but you really need to have the ignition system diagnosed to isolate the defective part.
