Question: my car won't turn over?

i have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am V6 I tried to jump it and it worked but when i got it home it wouldn't crank over. My dash lights and headlights are bright, but my door lock, and trunk release won't work. When I jumped it it made a high pitch humming sound while driving home

If it ran all the way home then wouldn't restart, I suspect your battery is defective. That noise was probably the alternator working too hard to keep the engine running. Have your battery and charging system tested. If you keep driving in this condition, the alternator will most likely fail as well.
