Question: My service engine light went on, is it still safe to drive my car?

My car has around 100,000 miles maybe a little more. The temperature of the car is normal and it doesn't need an oil change for another 2 thousand miles. The car drives the same as far as I know but y air hasn't been working for a while due to a leak.
