Question: my transmission light blinks after driving on the highway ?

2003 mitsubishi montero xls 4x4 trans. After driving for 45 minutes on the highway, my transmission neutral light starts blinking on the instrument panel.
The car drives fine but the blinking of that light tells me something is going bad. This light will reset when I turn off the engine and then back on. Can you help me determine what it is.????
Thanks.

The blinking light indicates a transmission error code--likely one of the sensors has recorded a reading that is out of parameters. You'll need to go to a shop where the code can be read using a scan tool, then the circuit can be diagnosed.
