Question: Need honest repair shop

Car was running fine. Parked it and minutes later wouldn't start. Towed it into independent shop.. They said it needs Dist. Assembly, incl. cap, spark plugs and wires. Est. was $880.00 We live in Manhattan. Sound's really, really high. Any suggestions?

You can try the 'find a mechanic' link on this site, or use a review site like cartalk.com or yelp.com. But that sounds like a normal price for NYC, as long as the diagnosis is accurate.
