Question: need to compress the coil springs

I have a 1956 oldsmobile and need to compress the coil springs..what tool can i get for the least amount of money to do the job and how much should i be paying...thanks shane

Many auto parts stores will lend you the tool for free, or rent it to you for a few bucks. It's not really a tool you need to own, and you don't want to buy a cheap one--they have to withstand a lot of stress. Call around to find a local parts store with a tool rental program.
