Those codes indicate that you need further diagnostics, and it's hard to make a call without doing those. Here's some more info on some tests that need to be done:

You need to find out what tests your mechanic did, and then I recommend taking it somewhere else for a second opinion. That's a lot of money to spend without feeling confident in the diagnosis.
