Question: No Power....

Car has no power during acceleration and a very low idle. Spark plugs and coils replaced 5k ago, oil changed every 3k and has been well maintained. There is a lot of ratting coming from the front when at high rpm. Took out the manifold o2 sensor to see if it was blockage and it idled perfectly ( did not drive test drive it). I believe its a clogged cat, but I don't have the tools now to get into it and look, but it rattles quite a bit when tapped with a rubber mallet.

You need to replace the cat. If you hit it with a rubber hammer and it rattles the inside has come apart. That would block the exit of the exhaust causing the low power. Also make sure the pieces have not got into the muffler. If they have you mite have to get a new one.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
