Question: overheating vehicle

my car is overheating. I took it to a mechanic and he said that the lower intake valve is burned out and needs to be replaced along with the gaskets. total amt he wants to chared is 818.88 Is that a fair price???

Probably means lower intake manifold gasket. That sounds about average (without knowing what type of engine you have) assuming it is the manifold gasket we are talking about.
