Question: Please Help

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer 4WD 4.3L SFI 6cyl. It has very weak acceleration and I have recently started hearing a high pitch whistling sound that only happens when I try to accelerate. Also I'm starting to hear a gurgling sound near the front end when I am driving and sometimes when my vehicle is idle. Can anyone help with possible diagnosis?

The whistling noise could be a vacuum leak or the intake air tube broken. You have to inspect the intake air tube. If that looks good. you have to check for vacuum leak. I would have a shop smoke test the intake system. But you can try to find the leak with carb cleaner. Be careful when you spray around the intake. If you spray to much the car can start on fire. So that is why I would have a shop do it. The other noise you here could be the cooling system. You could have a leak or a sticking thermostat. The other thing could be your heater core is starting to plug. That is very common for your car. When you check the fluid if it's all brown and you see brown build up in the radiator you need to get it flush. That mite free up the plug in the heater core.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
