Question: Pontiac Engine ticking

I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2 Liter engine and the engine is noisy. I took it in and it was suggested it was lifter noise. I took off the valve cover and observed a very small amount of oil is coming out of the lifters. It is not shooting out like I've seen other cars do. What could the problem be? Please list all possibilities and suggestions to fix.

Low oil pressure is the most likely cause. That can be from a weak oil pump or possibly worn main bearings.

You might want to have someone check the oil pressure on your engine to see if that is the case.
