Ask Our Auto Mechanics

Question: Possible Christine car?

Today my car started jerking forward after I came to a stop. It also accelerated on its own without me pushing the pedal much up to 45mph and not going downhill. Also when I put it in park the rpms went up to 2000. I waited about 10 minutes for it to go down before finally just cutting off my car. I don't want to take it to a shop since it may be something simple I can fix at home. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!
