Question: pulsating hum noise?
I have a 2005 honda civic that as it is driven has a pulsating humming (kind of a thum...thum...thum rhythm) coming from what seems to be the front passenger side wheel well. The noise is influenced by the speed at which the vehicle is moving. I have tried rotating tires to check if the sound travels, replaced the wheel bearing, checked brakes and rotors, checked for the brake dust cover contacting anywhere as the wheel rotated...I am at a loss as to what it may be. As I apply the brakes the sound gets slightly more audible as if one portion of the pad is contacting the rotor before the other. There is no vibration or pulling as the car is driven though. Any ideas? Could it be a bent wheel hub?
