Question: "new" fuel pump turns on but wont pump fuel. not enought power from battery?

just changed the fuel pump in my tahoe and hear the new pump turn on but not getting fuel pressure. tested the pump outside the tank in bucket of fuel and wont pump the fuel? will the pump turn on but not pump fuel if the battery is not fully charged?

If ti won't pump fuel, the mechanical part of the pump is probably defective. New doesn't always mean good. A 2% failure rate is normal for most parts. Sounds like you got a defective pump. Return it as most are warrantied for at least a year
