Question: Radiator fan kicks on and off every two seconds with defrost button selected.

When I select defrost, the radiator fan will kick on, run really high for about two seconds, then shut off for two seconds, then kick back on for another two, etc. Only on defrost. It's a 2000 Mazda 626 with an L4 engine. What's going on?

It might be trying to run the AC (many cars always run the AC with the defrost to increase efficiency of the defrost function). Does the AC work normally with it selected?
