Question: Radiator Hoses

Visited 2 shops, both with conflicting opinions; 1. Hose must be replaced during Radiator Flush because it feels weak at connection point. 2. Hoses feel fine and are manufactured for a long life. I am not sure which to believe and would like to obtain general information about the dangers of not changing the hoses at this time and what symptons idenfity the need to change these hoses?

Iif there is a real problem, then the expense of changing a hose is low compared to having one break on the road (inconvenience + need a tow).
