Question: Reverse does not work

My 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse runs fine but when I try to shift into reverse it pushes the gear out. Every other gear works fine but the only one that does not is reverse. What would be some probable cause?

The reverse gear is broke. You need a new transmission. Sorry.
