Question: Skim Needed -- Head Gasket Repair?

I have oil leaking from a head gasket. @ 80,000 miles. Engine runs okay: no overheating or misfiring. One garage says I should have heads skimmed , the othergarage says no. Which garage should I go with?

You should measure the heads and see if they are warped, pitted or otherwise compromised. You wont know until they are removed.
