Question: sparatic high idle

car will be running fine, but sometimes when i shift to reverse or drive engine idles high and stays thatway until i turn motor off then back on or let it sit off for a little while.idles up over 2000 rpms sometimes ,i dont even have to give it gas going down the road. i replaced icv but didnt fix problem. could this be a bad tps

It could be a TPS, but that can be tested before replacing. Clean the throttle body and the MAF (mass air flow sensor) first.
