Question: Stalles when idling

5.3 liter engine. Van stalls when starts unless pressing on gas to raise engine speed. Just replaced alternator. Drives fine but sometimes will drop off, voltometer will drop down to about 9 from 14 and will run kind of rough. Will start up without a problem but then die

Check you battery cables. If there is a lot of corrosion on the battery cables I would start there. Then check the cable that feeds the fuse box. I have seen the cable from the battery to fuse box cause this problem. If this does not take care of your problem let me know.
