Question: Takes a lot of cranking to start then runs fine

After shutting it off it take a lot of cranking to start. Once it starts it runs great. Can start quickly with starting fluid. V10 engine.

Have the fuel pressure tested. The check valve in the pump may not be keep the pressure up when the engine is shut off.
