Question: the car is making a hissing noise?

Almost like it's over heating, but it's not and the sound is coming from under the engine,

Do you hear it while the engine is running, or with it off? Is the coolant low? And have your serpentine belt inspected: you could remove it and run the engine for a few minutes to see if the noise is gone. If so, check the pulley bearings and/or replace the belt.
