Question: Timing Belt

What causes a timing belt to break? How much is related to miles and how much is related to just time? Waht happens over time even if the miles are way low as in my SC 430 (only 20,500)?

Mostly it's miles. The flexing of the belt as it rotate breaks down the belt. If the car is really old (like ten years) you might consider replacing it because of age, but most likely the belt will be fine.
