Question: tire pressure warning light

Hi: The low tire pressure warning light came on. I checked the pressure, added air, but it is still on. What should I do?

The TPMS will turn on the light if the pressure falls below whatever is listed on your door sticker. Not what the tire is rated at. It can also turn on if the tires are overinflated (usually above 50psi) or a tire transmitter loses connection with the receiver.

In any case, as long as the light is lit, it should have a code in it. You’ll need to take it in when the condition is active. If the light goes out, many systems will not retain code information.

If it stays on, there is still an issue.
