Question: toyota dealership said the my car is leaking power steering fluid and its $1000.00 to fix

My car is leaking power steering fluid, stated by the dealership, and it over $1000.00 to fix. How serious is this and can you recommended other reputable places to have it fixed.

If you can keep the fluid level topped off, you can still drive it for a while. But if it leaks out faster than you add it, you could do some more damage to the pump, disabling the vehicle and increasing the cost of the repair.

The dealership is the most expensive place for the repair. For a lower estimate, try an independent shop. There is a 'find a mechanic' link on this page, or you can try the referrals at the cartalk.com website.
