Question: traction off/abs replaced bearing hub

i replaced the pass side front hub bearing, due to growling noise. the trac.abs/service trac light were not on before i replaced the bearing.
I was extremely careful with the wires during install.

after starting the car upon install completion, the abs/ trac/service lights came on, and stayed on. they will not go out.
there are no apparent problems and the repair appears to be successful.

i took it to my mechanic and when he hooked up to computer, he said that he could not communitcate with the car when engine is running, but can when key is in the on position, engine not running...or vice versa. he could not see any set codes and could not turn off the lights.

anyway, he suggested that it may be a problem with the ignition, or module ,, not allowing the scanner to communicate with the car. have you ever heard of this being the problem?

he said he had an impala with the same symptoms.. he ended up replacing the ignition, and the lights went out, everything back to normal.......

thank you for any help....

Yes I have seen replacing the ignition switch fixing this problem. GM has problems with the ignition switch. GM has also had lots more problems with your sytle of ABS module. The shop can test to see which one or both you need.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
