Question: Transmission Failure
My dealership suggested that the front axel bearing seals (those right at the transmission case) be replaced since they are leaking a bit. I bit the bullet and did it. A few weeks later the car can't navigate an incline by engaging the appropriate gearr. The transmission is fried! No transmission fluid. Dealers position is it is now the inner bearings of the transmission that caused the transmission fluid not the work they did. Upon inspecting the car on the lift, it was clear the tans fluid blew out around the axle seals they just replaced. Again, their position is it is the transmission failure not the seals. Shouldn't the dealer pay for the new transmission??
