Question: transmission fluid flush/replacement

I have a 2001 honda accord ex v6 with automatic transmission that is running excellent. A local lube shop recommended a transmission flush and fluid replacement. Is this necessary? Thanks

I don't recommend flushes in general. And your vehicle is new enough that it may have lifetime transmission fluid.

Check your owner's manual to see if transmission service is recommended (or you can check our servicing your car section). If it is, a filter, dump and fill is usually all that is required.
